Buescher 400 Top Hat and Cane Tenor saxophone

Original lacquer, Buescher 400 “Top Hat & Cane” tenor sax. Serial No 330*** puts this horn’s manufacture at 1949/50. The TH&C model was considered to be made at the peak  of the American Buescher company’s saxophone manufacturing period. These horns are easily identified by their rear mounted Bell keys without keyguards ( Low B and Bb). underslung neck octave key, and large bell. This particular horn plays as you’d expect a vintage American tenor to play – with a big fat sound and a rich and beefy tone. There are a few minor dings here and there and some lacquer wear commensurate with its use and age. The pads are in great condition and have plenty of life left in them. Recently serviced, this sax is ready to play.

No mouthpiece is included in the sale.
