Dave Griffiths Woodwind and Brass Musical Instrument Repairs Exeter.

Griff provides Saxophone repairs, Clarinet repairs and Flute repairs from his fully equipped workshop in Exmouth, Devon. Centrally located in the South West between Plymouth, Taunton and Dorchester. Griff  repairs all woodwind instruments including bassoons, oboes, recorders, and all Brass Musical instruments.

Griff has a passion for vintage and modern saxophones and has carried out saxophone repair, flute repair and clarinet repair for Gerry Rafferty’s “Baker Street” soloist Raphael Ravenscroft, Kevin Hurst , Courtney Pine ,Idris Rahman, Pete Long , and Barbara Thompson , amongst others.

Dave “Griff” Griffiths, Proprietor, served in the Royal Marines for 22 years before deciding to retire from military life in 2003 and combine his passion for music and his engineering skills to become a musical instrument repairer. Griff is professionally trained and studied Musical Instrument Technology, Musical Instrument Repair (woodwind and brass repair and making) for 3 years full time at Merton College. In his final year, Griff was offered a repair position at Jonathan Myall Music (AKA Just Flutes) in Croydon. It was here he continued to hone his craft working alongside Flutesmith and Headjoint maker Ian McLauchlan  Griff still spends one day a week (Thursday) working from Jonathan Myall Music in Croydon. Griff spent time working with the Royal Marines Band Service Instrument Repair Workshop in Portsmouth and provides cover for sax.co.uk’s London store

Griff plays saxes with the Central Band of the Royal British Legion,  The Embassy Big Band, the jazz quartet AfterDark and with local band Jake the Dog.
