Dave "Griff" Griffiths. Proprietor, served in the Royal Marines for 22 years before deciding to retire from military life and combine his passion for music and his engineering skills to become a musical instrument repairer. Griff is professionally trained and studied Musical Instrument Technology. Musical Instrument Repair (woodwind and brass repair and making) for 3 years full time at Merton College and has spent time working with the Royal Marines Band Service Instrument Repair Workshop in Portsmouth. Griff is a professional member of the National Association of Musical Instrument Repairers. Griff now provides a personal repair service to customers both in the Westcountry and in London. Griff's fully equipped workshop is located in Exmouth Devon, he also spends 2 days a week in London, where on Wednesdays he works in the repair shop at Sax.co.uk (Denmark Street ) and on Thursdays he works in the repair shop at Jonathan Myall Music in Croydon. Griff has a passion for vintage and modern saxophones. Griff carries out saxophone repairs, Flute repairs and Clarinet repairs for Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street" soloist Raphael Ravenscroft, Pete Long and Barbara Thompson amongst others. Griff plays saxes with the Central Band of the Royal British Legion, plays tenor with the Embassy Big Band and the jazz quartet AfterDark, and Baritone with The Soul Collective in Devon.
